April Owens has been designing gardens using California native plants for over fifteen years. She is the Owner of SUN- Sustainable Urban Natives, a design and build landscaping company. April holds a degree in Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley Extension and a MBA in Sustainable Enterprise from Dominican University of California. April also is a Certified California Naturalist through UC Davis Extension.

Nancy Bauer has been teaching and writing about wildlife habitat gardening since 2001, and is the author of two books on the subject: The California Wildlife Habitat Garden (UC Press, 2012), winner of two book awards, and The Habitat Garden Book(2001, 2008). Nancy is also a Habitat Gardening Consultant working with clients to create more habitat value in their gardens
